Museu Victor Meirelles – Rua Victor Meirelless, 59 – Centro – (48) 3222 – 0692 A typical two story house, on the luso-brazilian style from the end of the XVIII century, where Victor Meirelles De Lima was born, one of the most expressive brazilian artist of all time. Besides de paintings of Victor Meirelles, the museum periodicly showcases Works from other artistis from Santa Catarina.

For more than two centuries the Palácio Cruz e Sousa hosted many political events important for Santa Catarina’s state. The former Governor’s Palace (Palacio Cruz e Souza) is in itself a true museum – exemple of the ecletic architecture from the XIX century, holder of a valious collection, representative of the political memory of native people (Barriga –Verde), with furniture, works of art, objects and documents oficial and particulars.

Installed at an old traditional house in Ribeirão da Ilha by initiative of the professor Nereru do Vale Pereira, a renowed researcher of the Azorian Culture. The museum holds an ecletic collection on the colonization of the Ilha de Santa Catarina and particularly the colony of Ribeirão da Ilha.

MMuseum of fundamental importance to the study of the evolution of human customs and mankind itself. With almost 200 skeletons in great state of conservation, aging between 1.055 and 1.552 years. The Museum also has as zoology area, with various animal species conserved through taxidermy. The collection also presents religious arts, numismatics (coins and cedules), fossils aging over 225 millions of years, indigenous utensils and other materials.

Biggest archeological museum in America Latina, the collection also covers etnography, indigenous etnology and popular culture, besides the archeology itself. The collection includes from indigenous utensils, bones, flour and sugar mills and also the works of art of the folklorist Franklin Cascaes, who registered the azorian culture through sculptures, pen and ink drawings and written stories. Re opened on 22/04, the museum is 20.451 ft² split in three rooms.

Museu Sacro da Capela do Menino Deus – St. Menino Deus, 376 – Downtown - (48) 3221-7598
Located at Capela do Menino Deus (1762), next to the Hospital de Caridade, it has a collection of wooden sculptures, from the century XVIII and XIX, paintings, liturgical objects, photographic memorial of the procession named Senhor Jesus dos Passos, historical – architectural evolution of the Hospital de Caridade, founded in 1789 and the historic of the Irmandade do Senhor Jesus dos Passos founded in 1765.
